Just a little note on anxiety and the mean little voice planting seeds of doubt in your head. It has been really helpful for me to name that voice in order to make it crystal clear that, just because it’s in my own head does not mean it’s speaking the truth. Usually, it’s just trying to look out for me and avoid the same pains and mistakes I’ve had to cope with in the past. But today is not always the past and that voice often gets it wrong because it speaking from a place of pain and fear. Ignoring the voice isn’t helpful and, often, that just makes it louder. B will see that soon enough. Instead, it’s best to talk it down and reason with it starting with questions like, “what are you afraid of?” Or “what’s the worst that could happen and is that outcome likely or even that bad?” Treat the voice like a difficult friend who truly just wants the best for you and you’ll transform it from a distracting enemy to a well meaning and often helpful frenemy. Life requires a Virgo and a Phyllis. 👯♀️
