πππππ & πππππππ πβ£ β£ I wanted to share a little bit of my thought process when planning out my shoots today βΊοΈβ£ β£ My goal for this shoot was to contrast colors and patterns.β£ β£ I intentionally wanted the models to have different hair colors (dark & light) and different patterns / colored outfits to create a cohesive look that still held identifiable differences. β£ β£ You can see how this allows me to pose the models in a variety of ways even next to each other without losing juxtaposition I was desiring. β£ β£ β£

Weβve all been there and know how awkward it can be getting in front of a camera so I wanted to share with you all a reel of selects from one of my shoots this week to show you a variety of my go-to sitting, standing, and walking poses. Whether youβre a photographer looking for help with direction, model needing ideas, or looking for ways to switch up your content - these poses are a good foundation to start with! I wanted to show you all some behind the scenes footage from what went into @leilanni & Iβs Candy Cloud shoot yesterday π₯° Set design is a part of the creative process that I thoroughly enjoy because it allows me paint the environment that I envision. Often, if I know how Iβm going to style something I can start with the garment and build my inspiration for the set from there. (Fun fact: I actually started off styling photo shoots before I became a photographer myself) For this set, my idea rooted from this pink tule frilly garment and these little cloud glasses. They made me think of Candy land & heaven combined π thus came the concept: πβοΈ CANDY CLOUDS βοΈπ My loft is forever going to be sprinkled with little glitter reminders of this project but it was well worth it ππ

Shot this out in 30-minutes to catch the sunset β¨ Quick tip for beginners: if you donβt have much time before you start to lose light - get as many shots on ground level as possible and search for a rooftop or elevated area to finish your shoot since youβll have light longer up high. I didnβt get a chance to post the behind the scenes of my set up & outfit for New Years so I put together a little video showing you my process. This year, my set consisted of 40β Silver balloons, Scrapbook glitter cut-outs which I stuck to the backdrop, confetti which got stuck to me (if I DMβd you, you already know π) and a bar landyard saying βKiss me at Midnightβ which I cut off the original ribbon and taped to the top.

For this image that one of my friends took of me while sailing, I completely took out the blues, brought down the luminance in the oranges (skin), and brought up the whites for a more dramatic effect / edit.
